In the beginning, Kori and Donte’s story didn’t look like the start of a love story at all. Kori was Donte’s boss, and the two rarely spoke beyond what work required. They moved through the same workplace, living separate lives, never imagining that something deeper was quietly waiting to unfold.Everything changed one December evening at the company Christmas party. What began as casual conversation between coworkers slowly turned into laughter, easy conversation, and a spark neither of them expected. By the end of the night, the connection was undeniable. Instead of calling it a night like everyone else, they made an impromptu decision that would become the true beginning of their story—a spontaneous first date at Waffle House.It was simple, unplanned, and perfect.The following week, Donte planned their official first date, taking Kori to The Capital Grille, a place that would later become part of their tradition. The night was filled with great food, deep conversation, and the feeling that something special had just begun. To this day, they still return to that same restaurant to celebrate the milestones of their life together.The first few months of their relationship unfolded like many new romances—learning each other, spending time together, and slowly building something meaningful. Then the world changed. When COVID arrived, life slowed down for everyone, but for Kori and Donte, it brought an unexpected gift: time.Time to be together.Time to truly know one another.Time to build a bond that would become the foundation of their life.They spent more time alone together, growing closer and stronger, until eventually they took the next step and moved in together, creating a home and a life side by side.Then came their greatest blessing.In August of 2022, their daughter Laila was born—the first and only child they would have. From that moment on, their love story grew into something even bigger than just the two of them. Their family of three became the center of everything.Years later, on March 30, 2025, Donte asked Kori to marry him. It was a moment that marked how far their journey had come—from boss and employee who barely spoke, to partners building a life and family together.And ever since that day, they have continued their story the same way it began—together, happily, and always finding reasons to celebrate the love that started with a Christmas party and a late-night trip to Waffle House. The couple officially becomes Mr. &amp; Mrs Fontenette on September 24,2026.Because sometimes the best love stories start when you least expect them.

I’ve known Kelly since we were 15, and over the years she’s become so much more than a best friend—she’s truly like a sister to me. We’ve shared countless memories together, from traveling and birthdays to road trips and navigating all of life’s highs and lows. We’ve grown into motherhood side by side, supporting each other through every trial and triumph.

Through it all, she has been my rock—someone I can always count on, no matter what. I love her deeply, and I feel so incredibly honored to have her standing by my side as my matron of honor. I truly couldn’t imagine stepping into this next chapter of my life without her.

Ashley has been one of my best friends since we were 15, and she has always been such a true and loyal friend. She’s kind, smart, beautiful, and so incredibly caring—the sweetest soul you could ever meet.

She’s always been there with unwavering support, and she’s brought so much laughter and so many unforgettable memories into my life. From traveling and road trips to going out for a good margarita, every moment with her is special.

Ashley Mackie

Valen has been one of my best friends since I was 16, and she truly brings so much joy into my life. She’s my go-to dance partner—we love to dance, laugh loudly, and just have the best time together. She’s as silly as she is smart, with a quick wit that always keeps things fun.

We shared some of our college years and so many great memories, especially bonding over watching sports together. Through it all, she’s been a loyal and supportive friend—someone I can laugh with endlessly and also share a good cry with when I need it most.

I’m so grateful to have her by my side as a bridesmaid.

Noor, my sister-in-law, has truly been such a blessing in my life. She is an amazing wife to my brother and a wonderful mother to my niece and nephew.

She is genuinely kind and caring, and the best aunt to my daughter, Laila. Having her in our family has meant so much to me. We’ve shared so many special moments together—whether it’s enjoying a peaceful night with a good glass of wine or simply spending time together.

She’s also become a great friend—someone who is always real and honest with me, which I value so much. I’m so honored to have her by my side on my big day.

Lyric, my fiancé’s sister and future sister-in-law, has been such a kind and beautiful soul since the moment I met her. She is truly beautiful inside and out and always brings such a warm, joyful energy—she loves to laugh and make others happy.

Laila, our beautiful flower girl and our daughter, is truly our biggest blessing. Having her be part of Mommy and Daddy’s wedding fills our hearts with so much joy. We love this little girl more than words can express—she plays such a meaningful role in our union. We thank God for her every single day.
